Climate change and local authorities

The project “Climate Change and Local Authorities” is organized by the RURENER partner U.A.N. located in Hannover/Germany. It is supported by the patronage of Mr. Christian Wulff, the Prime Minister of Lower Saxony. The project has the following aims:
- to bring the topics of “Climate Change” and “Climate Protection” on the agenda of the local authorities in Lower Saxony;
- to introduce workable options for local authorities, to accumulate information for distribution;
- to motivate local authorities into sensitising the citizens on the topic of “Climate Protection”;
- to support the exchange of information and co-operation between local authorities and other networks such as NGO’s.

Because of the similar approaches, RURENER can benefit from the experiences made in Lower Saxony and vice versa.
