RURENER network promotion in Brussels
Apr 19th, 2010 by kostas

A join event of four EU co-financed projects supported by the Intelligent Energy for Europe – IEE programme (BIORES, BiG>East, BIOGAS ACCEPTED and RE-WISE) took place on the 24th of March 2010 in Brussels. The main aim of the event was to increase the awareness and exchange knowledge between the participants and the above mentioned projects concerning further biogas exploitation across Europe.
During the Conference which was one of the EU Sustainable Energy Week 2010 events in Brussels the Centre for Renewable Energy Sources and Saving (CRES) representative Mr. Konstantinos Sioulas (CRES participates in BiG>East but also to RURENER project) had the chance to discuss with the participants and briefly present the RURENER network aims and achievements so far.
The fact that biogas exploitation in rural and agricultural areas can play a significant role toward neutrality and stronger penetration of renewable sources at local level was pointed out. A copy of the first RURENER newsletter was also available for further acquaintance with the network.
