The initiative
The seamstresses of Chambon sur Voueize and the local hardware store get together to make over-blouses to protect the medical staff. Indeed, the hardware store had a remaining stock of veils for wintering which won’t be used in the Spring. The stock was kindly offered free of charge to the seamstresses. In turn, they settled in the media library to transform the place into a sewing workshop ! The local pharmacy is used a relay between the seamstresses and the medical staff.
Des couturières de Chambon sur Voueize s’allient au quincaillier local pour réaliser des sur-blouses afin de protéger le personnel médical. En effet, ce dernier disposait d’un stock de voile d’hivernage conséquent qui ne trouvera plus d’usage en ce printemps bien avancé. Le stock a donc été gracieusement cédé. De leur coté, les couturières ont investi la médiathèque intercommunale pour la transformer illico en atelier de couture ! La pharmacie locale, sert de point de relais entre couturières et personnel médical.
The territory
In the north-east of the Creuse department and of the Region Nouvelle-Aquitaine, the association of communities Creuse Confluence gathers 42 municipalities representing about 18 000 inhabitants. Ce territoire se singularise par un cadre de vie agréable et un dynamisme économique soutenu, grâce à l’implantation de plusieurs entreprises d’envergure nationale. Elle propose de nombreuses activités touristiques, allant des itinéraires de randonnée et VTT aux soins thermaux (commune d’Evaux-les-Bains).
Chambon sur Voueize municipality
Former capital of the Combraille area, the old village of Chambon sur Voueize is one of the municipalities of Creuse Confluence. The village encompasses the Saint-Valery Abbey, presenting a remarkable roman architecture. You’ve heard of the name of the village before but cannot recall where or when? You may have seen it in the French tv show “The favorite village of French people” when Chambon sur Voueize got 3rd place! A good destination for your holidays… After the confinement.
Ancienne capitale des Combrailles, le très ancien village de Chambon sur Voueize est situé sur le territoire de Creuse Confluence. Il accueille l’abbatiale Sainte-Valérie, d’architecture romane remarquable. Le nom de ce petit bourg vous parle mais vous ne savez pas d’où ? C’est peut-être parce que vous l’avez vu dans l’émission “Le village préféré des français” lorsque Chambon sur Voueize représentait le Limousin et a même terminé à la 3ème place ! Une bonne destination pour vos prochaines vacances… Après le confinement.
