Powering the energy transition in rural communities does not only depend on technological innovation, on the contrary, one of the strengths of rural territories is their ability to re-invent new ways to be a society. Social and territorial innovations for the energy transition are at the heart of this session scheduled for the European Sustainable Energy Week of 2020 that became an online event due to the sanitary crisis. If the crisis has taught us anything, it’s that the world needs social innovation to move forward in a more sustainable way.
